WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
For men 50 and over
Weekly indoor cricket
Trips, days out & taster sports
Health & wellbeing support

SOME HADN'T PLAYED IN YEARS. NOW THEY'RE BACK.
50 Not Out is Cricket Arena's programme for men aged 50 and over — weekly cricket, days out, and time spent in good company.
It started with a simple observation. A group of men in Sheffield had played league cricket together for years. When the team wound down, the game went — and with it the exercise, the weekly routine, and the friends who noticed when you weren't quite yourself. At that age, those things are hard to replace.
So we brought them back together, and opened it up to others of the same age. Some hadn't picked up a bat in over a decade. Some had never played at all.
The cricket itself is low-impact and sociable — no experience needed, no kit to buy, and nobody is too rusty to join in. But it doesn't stop at the sports hall. Alongside the weekly session we run days out and taster sports: golf, padel, walks in the hills, trips to watch the cricket, and the occasional weekend away — most of it on our own minibus.
Health and wellbeing runs quietly through all of it: staying active, keeping an eye on how you're doing, and having a reason to get out of the house at an age when those reasons get harder to come by.
New faces are welcome. Get in touch and come along — the first week is the hardest, and it really isn't that hard.
